TAALC networks providers across Texas

Established TAALCTALKS listserv for members with assistance from the Texas Center for Adult Literacy and Learning. It is a free listserv to all members of the association. This useful tool serves to connect members with other Texas providers and keeps members informed of resources and training opportunities. Please email Lea Ann Schroeder at lschroeder@tamu.edu to join the listserv.

Provides free or low cost professional development.

• Provided the first and ongoing Bridges to Practice Training (for teachers of adults with learning disabilities) with a grant through the National Institute for Literacy Training Project
• Currently joining with Texas LEARNS and Texas Center for Adult Literacy and Learning (TCALL) to provide funding for Bridges to Practice Training, program travel expenses to TAALC Conference and TALAE Conference, development of New Directors Training, support for ProLiteracy Accreditation, Training of Trainers and local Board training
• Since 2002, hosting a statewide annual TAALC Conference in Austin during early August; the latest with nearly 200 participants
