As a move to recognize programs using best practices throughout their operations, ProLiteracy
America awards national accreditation. The award is made only after completion of the
application process and a thorough on-site evaluation by specially trained evaluators.
The program also provides a standard of performance for programs who want to improve their
operations. Any program accredited by ProLiteracy America can be viewed as highly effective
schools and soundly run businesses.
TAALC aids Texas literacy programs in acquiring this
designation through paying the fees and providing technical support through the accreditation
process.
